About our Library
In the 1950’s and early 1960’s Billings had a little library in the stone building on the corner of Washington and SE Pine Street. Like our current library in the old City Hall building at 251 US Highway 60, it was run by volunteers and not supported by city, county or state tax revenue.
In the Summer of 2017, the Billings City Aldermen updated Chapter 145 of the Billings City Ordinance to better define Library Board and City responsibilities and obligations. You can find the updated ordinance here. The Billings City Library has a non-profit Friends of the Billings City Library and you can find more information about them on the library website here.
